    John Lear


    John Lear is an experienced tennis coach with over 16 years of coaching experience and a strong passion for player development. He served as the assistant coach for the Columbia High School tennis team for six years and was the Columbia County middle school tennis coach for four years. In addition, John coached Jr. Team Tennis for eight years, helping young athletes build skills, confidence, and a love for the game.

    Throughout his coaching career, John has worked with multiple players who have gone on to compete in tournaments and continue their tennis careers at the collegiate level.

    John is USTA Safe Play™ Certified and has also received specialized training in ROGY (Red, Orange, Green, Yellow) youth tennis development.

    Cassidy Lear


    Cassidy Lear is a former NCAA Division II student-athlete who competed in women’s tennis for Eckerd College. Prior to her collegiate career, she was a standout varsity player at Columbia High School, where she held the #1 singles position all four years. In the 18 & Under division, Cassidy earned a ranking among the Top 100 players in the State of Florida.

    With more than 10 years of private coaching experience, Cassidy has worked with players of all ages and skill levels. She previously served as a Junior Tennis Pro at Tennis Forever and has extensive experience leading youth tennis camps, clinics, and player development programs.

    Cassidy is USTA Safe Play™ Certified and has also received specialized ROGY (Red, Orange, Green, Yellow) training for youth tennis development.

    Linda Williams


    Linda Williams is a lifelong tennis enthusiast whose passion for the sport has spanned decades. A former high school tennis player, she continued her involvement in tennis through collegiate intramural competition, USTA adult league play, and active participation in adult social tennis programs. In 2024, Linda became a Certified Tennis Coach through the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).

    Since 2017, Linda has served on the Board of Directors for the Lake City Columbia Community Tennis Association, where she has held leadership roles including Board Secretary and Vice President. Over the past decade, she has helped plan, organize, and coach approximately 25 youth tennis camps, playing a key role in expanding local tennis opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels.

    In addition to her work with LCCCTA, Linda serves as Board Secretary for the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida. Her dedication to youth development and community engagement reflects her belief in using tennis to build confidence, encourage sportsmanship, and foster a lifelong love of the game.

    Linda is USTA Safe Play™ Certified and also holds certifications in Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR.

All instructors featured on this page are trained professionals who have successfully completed background screenings and U.S. Center for SafeSport training, helping provide a safe, supportive, and positive environment for every player.
