Board Meeting - June 8, 2015
Call to Order: Committee Chairman Glenn Hunter called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM. This in attendance included: Glenn Hunter, Dolly Robinson, James Montgomery, Tom Moore, Joe Hinkle, Nelson Rivera, John Lear and Mike Null.Approval of Minutes of the May 11, 2015 meeting: Minutes taken by Tom Moore were distributed to members via email on 6/7/15; no changes were made.Old Business: Chairman Hunter disclosed that the County's grant writer in out on medical leave; it is not known at this time when or if he will return in that capacity. It is unknown at this time who may assist with appropriate grants on behalf of the County.Chairman Hunter gave an overview of the City's tentative offer of property located off Sister's Welcome Road (10 acres) and possible pros and cons in comparison to the County's Southside Facility assuming the purchase of additional property. Chairman Hunter also pointed out long term maintenance of the property and how that could best be served.Chairman Hunter adjourned the regular TDC Sports Committee for Tennis Complex meeting briefly.LCCCTA President Dolly Robinson called to order the meeting of the LCCCTA. Same members in attendance.President Robinson distributed copies of the Articles of Incorporation filed and acknowledged by the State of Florida, Division of Corporations, N15000005468. President Robinson has secured assistance with Richard Johnson, CPA. to submit the required documents for Sales Tax Exemption, Non-Profit Status and a FEID No.President Robinson reported that the organization has also joined the USTA; membership #2010675339. The login is: lcccta@gmail.com password is available to members upon request.There was discussion about membership. It was agreed the initial annual membership is as follows:
- Friends of Tennis $5.00
- Corporate Sponsor $100.00
Tentative plans are being developed for a membership drive and a tennis clinic on July 11th. More information to come forward as it is developed.The meeting of the LCCCTA was adjourned.Chairman Hunter reconvened the meeting of the TDC Sports Committee for Tennis Complex.Tom Moore distributed material he and his wife secured from Bainbridge Tennis following a site visit. He reported about the many similarities with the City of Bainbridge, GA and Lake City, FL and then he shared the history of how the tennis facility was founded, funded, and currently operating. Details are available at: www.bainbridgetennis.comChairman Hunter to look into new logo options that can be used on the organizations FB, website and printed material. Will also look into having membership application and cards printed.The next TDC Sports Committee for Tennis Complex meeting is scheduled for July 6, 2015 at 5:30 PM. John Lear is making arrangements to have Dave Porter, organizer of Jonesville Tennis Center to be the presenter.Meeting adjourned at 6:50 PM.
