M. Null expressed appreciation to M. Ammundsen for his work in creating LCCCTA’s Tennis Ball Machine Guidelines. Please see below:

The electric tennis ball machine with remote is the property of the LCCCTA (Lake City Columbia Community Tennis Association) and is available for use by the public at the local Lake City public tennis courts located at Youngs Park.

The following guidelines are designed to manage the use of the ball machine and will be enforced by the LCCCTA at the discretion of the LCCCTA to ensure the safety of the tennis player(s) and prevent abuse of the machine.

Tennis Ball Machine Guidelines:

Access

  • There is currently no cost for using the ball machine.

  • The ball machine can be reserved or requested ad hoc if there is no reservation pending.

  • To reserve or request the ball machine, contact: Coach Mark at the Tennis HQ. If not available, possibly a Board Member with LCCCTA can assist. The machine cannot be checked out during a time Coach Mark is engaged with lessons.

  • Use of the ball machine per reservation is limited to 1.5 hours.

  • Signing for the ball machine requires a valid driver’s license. A sign up sheet is in the Tennis HQ. Must be 16+ years old to operate the ball machine.

  • The ball machine, remote and tennis balls are stored in the Tennis HQ.

Note: Tennis courts are public courts; a reservation for the ball machine is not a guarantee for court availability.

Set-up

  • The electrical outlet is located inside the court by the entrance gate.

  • The ball machine must be set-up on either courts 1 or 4.

  • Set up must be on the near side of the court closest to the electrical outlet.

  • The electrical cord must run directly from the ball machine to the outlet located by the entrance gate.

  • Only tennis balls provided by LCCCTA are to be used when operating the ball machine.

  • In case of rain, the ball machine, remote and machine tennis balls must be returned to the Tennis HQ immediately.

VP/Secretary Report:

L. Williams suggested an updated LCCCTA Board of Directors group photo be taken ahead of the Spring Youth Tennis Camp in April. All agreed it would be a good time.

L. Williams reported that 2026 Youth Tennis Camp dates have been established and are posted so parents can plan in advance. Online LCCCTA website and Facebook registration has already been made available for the Spring Youth Tennis Camp.

President Null would like for E. Xi Amaru, L. Williams, and himself to meet with Richardson Community Center (RCC) staff in the next couple of months in order to provide LCCCTA youth camp information to minority youth who we’d love to have participate.

The 3-week Tuesday/Thursday dates are as follows:

  • Spring Camp: April 7-23

  • Summer Camp: June 2-18

  • Fall Camp: October 6-22

Treasurer Report:

J. Hinkle provided the Financial Report as of February 9, 2026.

The account balance is $4,139.90, to include funding from Youth Tennis Foundation (YTF) of FL ($2,296.08), General expenses ($1,641.85), and the Milly Beggs Adult Social account ($100.00). One check for $101.97 is pending payment.

M. Sexton made a motion to approve the Financial Report. L. Hunter-Null seconded the motion, and the motion carried unanimously.

New Business:

L. Williams reported the three-week Tuesday and Thursday after school Spring Youth Tennis Camp will be conducted by Coach Mark Mansbach from April 7-23. The cost will be $20 per participant. Online registration will be available on the LCCCTA website and LCCCTA Facebook page.

The last day of registering will be April 7th, the first day of the spring camp. USTA FL tennis rackets will be available to participants and groups will be divided by tennis ability levels: beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate beginner. Since volunteer coaches will be necessary, L. Williams asked members of the Board of Directors to help coach or assist with the upcoming Spring Camp.

President Null encouraged all board members who volunteer LCCCTA’s youth camps to become ‘Safe Play’ certified by going to USTA FL to complete the background check and coursework, which is submitted to the National Registry.

M. Ammundsen suggested fundamental Tennis Etiquette be added to the youth tennis camps. Most new players and their parents are not knowledgeable in courtesy rules of tennis; this would be helpful.

The Board agreed that tennis etiquette is important, and should be taught alongside tennis instruction.

President M. Null thanked everyone for their time and support and adjourned the meeting at 6:50 PM.

Next board meeting scheduled for Monday, March 9th, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
