Remembering Coach Mark

At LCCCTA, we’re constantly reminded that tennis is about so much more than the game itself. It’s about the people who bring our community to life, who lift others up, and who leave a lasting mark both on and off the court. Few embodied that spirit more fully than Coach Mark Mansbach.

As we gathered at Youngs Park to celebrate Coach Mark’s life, share stories, and reflect on the impact he had on all of us, it was clear just how deeply he touched this community. He was more than a tennis professional. He was a mentor, a friend, and a true source of inspiration. He gave his time generously, especially to the veterans he worked with, using tennis as a way to build confidence, create camaraderie, and bring genuine joy into their lives.

What Coach Mark created went far beyond lessons and drills. He built meaningful connections, encouraged personal growth, and made people feel seen, valued, and supported. His impact continues to ripple throughout our community. Every player he coached and every life he touched carries a piece of his legacy forward.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support one another and honor Coach Mark’s legacy.

In addition, we are deeply grateful to USTA Florida for the beautiful remembrance banner created in his honor. This thoughtful gesture speaks volumes about the compassion and sense of community that exists within the sport of tennis. It’s a tribute that not only recognizes Coach Mark’s contributions, but also reflects the shared values that connect us all.

The remembrance banner now stands as a powerful symbol of that legacy. For those of us who knew him, it is a meaningful reminder of the difference one person can make. For others, it serves as an introduction to a man whose story will continue to inspire for years to come.

We extend our sincere thanks to USTA Florida for honoring Coach Mark in such a meaningful way. Your kindness and recognition ensure that his contributions will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Lake City Columbia Community Tennis Association (LCCCTA) in support of the "Coach Mark Scholarship Fund". The mailing address is 971 W Duval St, Ste 183, Lake City, FL 32055. Thank you for your support!
